We send our love and thoughts to all residents in the region.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On October 11, the remnants of Typhoon Halong struck Alaska\u2019s southwest coast with hurricane-force winds, unleashing record-breaking flooding across numerous Alaska Native villages. Evacuees and rescue workers report scenes of widespread devastation: utility poles snapped in half, boardwalks\u2014the lifelines of many tundra communities\u2014torn from the ground, and homes ripped from their foundations, some carrying families still inside.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">State officials estimate that more than a thousand residents have been displaced, with many unable to return to their homes. The storm has claimed one life, left two people missing, and destroyed or severely damaged dozens of houses, particularly in the hardest-hit villages of Kipnuk and Kwigillingok.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t<div data-particle_enable=\"false\"
